Martin County has implemented a burn ban effective immediately due to fire safety concerns. The ban prohibits the following activities:
- Campfires and recreational fires, unless within a fire ring of at least 23 inches in diameter and 6 inches high.
- Open burning of any kind, except for grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane.
- Burning of debris, including construction or storm debris.
- Use of burn barrels for open burning at residential structures.
Charcoal from grills must be fully extinguished before disposal. Firework use is limited to non-aerial devices.
