On the evening of September 2, Daviess County Central Dispatch received a call reporting a confrontation at the residence of David Goble on SR 257. Kevin Wilson, 59, of Washington, pulled into the Goble property armed with a gun and began arguing with Mr. Goble. After repeated demands to leave, Wilson approached the porch, pointing a handgun at Mr. Goble. In self-defense, Mr. Goble fired two shots, causing Wilson to retreat near his vehicle, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have stated that Wilson suffered from mental health issues, and there was no known prior connection between the two men. The investigation is ongoing, with a report to be submitted to the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office for review. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by multiple agencies, including the Washington Police Department and Indiana State Police.
