Entries are now being accepted for the 2024 Daviess County Christmas Parade, set to take place on Saturday, December 7th, at 6 p.m. The parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m. near NE 7th and Bedford Road. This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World,” and entries must be decorated with lights to qualify for cash prizes and trophies.
Categories include Best Overall ($200/Trophy), Best Business/Commercial ($150/Trophy), and Best Non-Profit ($100/Trophy). There is also a $100 prize and a traveling trophy for the best lighted window display on Main Street. Float judging will take place during the lineup.
To avoid confusion for children, the committee requests that no parade entry includes Santa Claus, as he will make his appearance at the end of the parade. Following the event, Santa will visit with children at the new Commons area at Main and 3rd Streets, where treats and storybooks from Little Warrior Wishes will be available.
