Jan Marie Meisenhelder Templin of Carmel, Indiana passed away on August 24, 2024 at the age of 66. She will be remembered for all the things she was to so many loved ones – mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Ryan Templin, her sons, Chase Anderson (Nisha), Bryce Anderson (Allison), and her three grandchildren, Isabel, Lucas, and Jackson, as well as her siblings, Thomas “Jay” Meisenhelder (Jacquie), Joe Meisenhelder (Barb), Eric Meisenhelder, Mark Meisenhelder (Kelly), David Meisenhelder (Shelley), and her sister Cara Salyer (David), and many nieces and nephews. Jan was born in Connersville, IN on May 26, 1958 to George and Doris Meisenhelder. She was the first daughter and the 5th of 7 siblings. She attended St. Gabriel’s parish and parochial school and graduated from Connersville High School. She then went on to study Marketing Management at Ball State University. Before she graduated she accepted a sales job with Belden Wire and Cable where she would go on to have an incredible 11 year career. Her drive, determination and grit led her to succeed in a primarily male dominated field and she rose to the position of National Sales Manager. She switched career paths and became Mom in 1992 with the birth of her first son, Chase, and then her second son, Bryce, in 1994. Jan was a loving mother who poured herself not just into her sons but into the community she raised them in. From being PTA president for many years to helping with the development of a new school district, Jan spent her time giving back. Her two sons are a reflection of the incredible soul she possessed. She instilled in them a kind heart, strong sense of purpose, and her love of family. Both Chase and Bryce are happily married and starting beautiful families of their own. In the last few years, Jan gained the new title of Grandma to her grandchildren, Isabel, Lucas, and Jackson. Her boys and her grandbabies were her greatest joys. Jan first met her husband, Ryan Templin, on the FastPark airport bus- both on the way to visit their grandchildren. They exchanged numbers and reconnected after returning from their families. With the many trips back and forth between Carmel and Loogootee, Jan and Ryan drove their way into each other’s hearts. They married on December 31, 2023. They picked out a house together in Loogootee and Jan turned it into a beautiful home where they enjoyed neighborhood walks and bocce ball in the backyard. While their time together was short, the joy and love they gave each other is evident in the happy and full life they built together in the years they were together. Jan was also “one of the girls” and had the best community of women surrounding her in all phases of her life. She was fiercely loyal and the kind of friend who made you feel like the most important person in the room. She could always light up a room and was the one to get the party started. She leaned into her friendships to lift her up in both good and bad times. From walks through the neighborhood to girls trips to the beach, her friends were a special part of her life. Jan was a beautiful presence and her absence will be felt by many. Please join us in celebrating her life. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19th 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, Indiana.
