Kiara Welsh, a graduate of Washington High School, has been awarded a $500 scholarship by the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) and sponsored by SRI, Inc. The scholarship was presented in Daviess County, with Kiara’s mother, Jennifer Welsh, accepting on her behalf. Jennifer Welsh is the Daviess County Auditor. Kiara Welsh, daughter of Greg and Jennifer Welsh, plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana to study Dental Hygiene. She is one of four students across Indiana to receive the $500 scholarship, which is awarded to spring 2024 high school graduates who are pursuing higher education in Indiana. Applicants must be an Indiana county employee or the custodial child of one from an AIC-affiliated office. The scholarship recipients will be officially announced at the AIC’s Annual Conference next month and recognized at a county commissioners’ meeting in their home counties.
