A 26-year-old woman, Clara Whippo, was arrested on multiple serious charges following an incident near Jasper’s Riverwalk on September 15. At approximately 11:45 a.m., the Jasper Police Department received reports of a male with a head injury and blood on his clothing walking near the 15th Street entrance of the Riverwalk. While officers were searching for him, the department received a 911 call from a Riverwalk call box, where the injured man stated that Clara Whippo had struck him with a metal object. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officers then searched for Whippo in a nearby agricultural field. Whippo was located by K9 Gator and taken into custody. Clara Whippo faces charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, aggravated battery, neglect of an animal, and criminal trespass. She is currently being held at the Dubois County Security Center.
