Sullivan County Police were involved in a standoff Monday night in Merom. Officers responded to a domestic situation where someone was barricaded in a home. A woman was found with gunshot wounds; she was airlifted to Indianapolis for non-life-threatening injuries. The man inside the home was identified as 53-year-old Tony Maree. Police later set up a perimeter and entered the home, where they found Maree dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident remains under investigation.
