On Monday night around 8:07 p.m., Indiana State Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash on the I-69 northbound exit ramp at SR 68. According to the preliminary investigation, 28-year-old Aziz Ermatov of California was driving a semi northbound on I-69 when he exited at SR 68. For unknown reasons, Ermatov allegedly ran a stop sign, colliding with a GMC Terrain traveling west. Both vehicles caught fire upon impact, and the driver of the GMC Terrain was pronounced dead at the scene. Ermatov was not injured. The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the deceased driver will be released after identification and family notification.
