The Pocket Athletic Conference passed out it’s post season awards yesterday.
     For Soccer, on the girls side Heritage Hills was you conference champion finishing the season at 11-0.  Shake Broadcasting area’s players making the first team all conference are Washington’s Ella Niehaus and Pike Central’s Ava Aaserud players on the 2nd team all PAC is Washington’s Kapri Grainger and Lexi Nalin and Pike Central’s Jaelynn Miley and Laina Leighty.
     On the boys team again it was an undefeated Heritage Hills that topped the conference with the Washington Hatchets finishing 2nd at 10 and 1.  First team All PAC are Dominic Mattingly and Walter Palma from Washington. 2nd team players named include Hatchets Brant Neidigh and Deacon McCleese along with Charger Cameron Roy.
     In Boys Cross Country Princeton was the team champion and  Washington’s Brody Wilson and Dane Perryman made the first team along with Blaine Barnett of Pike Central.  On the girls first team Pike Central’s Xavery Wiseman makes the squad with the 2nd overall fastest time along with Charger teammates Kaylyn Warner, Emiley Riker and Kylee Weathers and the Chargers were the overall team champion.
     In Tennis Forest Park and Heritage Hills shared the conference championship.  Eli Arnold of Pike Central made the All-Conference singles first team

AP Top 25 in college football shows  Oregon as the new #1 team followed by Georgia, Penn St, Ohio St and Texas. Notre Dame stays at #12 and the Indiana Hoosiers not only move up 3 spots to #13 but will also host ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday when they take on the Washington Huskies at noon.  Indiana Coach Curt Cignetti named Tayven Jackson as the Hoosiers starting quarterback in place of the injured Kurtis Rourke who injured his throwing-hand thumb in the blowout win versus Nebraska.
The WNBA players union is officially opting out of the league’s current collective bargaining agreement.

The World Series gets going on Friday night as the Dodgers and Yankees renew their rivalry.
