John Larry Blackwell, 84, of Jasper, Indiana formerly of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Sunday November 3, 2024, at the Timbers of Jasper surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 20, 1940, in Washington, Indiana to Jacob and Blanche (Freeman) Blackwell.
John believed in the Catholic Faith. He served his community as a part- time police officer, and a security guard when he lived in Florida. John was a lifelong truck driver owning Blackwell Trucking. He enjoyed spending time with his partner of 25 years, Claudia who passed away in 2020, and spending time with his family, friends, and many trips to the casino.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Blanche Blackwell, his partner, Claudia Valdivia, and his sister, Patricia Kalb.
He is survived by his children, David Blackwell, Barbara (Rob) Arvin, Rachel (Tim) Hudson, Charles (Tina) Blackwell, Jennifer (Charlie) Tedrow, 14 Grandchildren, 18 Great- Grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
John will be entombed at Lake Worth Memory Gardens in Lake Worth, Florida.
