A good crowd gathered yesterday at the Hill of Heroes at Eastside Park for the annual Veterans Day Program presented by the VFW and American Legion. Karl Sexton, a retired military vet, was the guest speaker from Odon and said he has enjoyed retirement and settling down in Daviess County.
Sexton shared war stories and personal stories of what serving his country meant to him. Washington Mayor Dave Rhoads also spoke, and a salute to the P.O.W.’s and MIA’s was also held, followed by a 21-gun salute.
