The two-day manhunt for Austin Schepers, the suspect in the shooting of Orange County Deputy Zac Andry, concluded Saturday evening in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident began early Friday when Deputy Andry was shot multiple times, including in the head, after stopping to check on a Pontiac Grand Prix at US 150 and SR 56 in Orange County. Schepers, 33, and a female passenger fled the scene. Andry was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Authorities located the female passenger later Friday morning near Orangeville. Meanwhile, the search for Schepers led officers to a home on Wheeler Avenue in Louisville on Saturday. During a confrontation at the residence, Schepers was shot and killed by law enforcement. The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the incident. Officials confirm there is no longer a public safety threat related to this case.
