Super Bowl LIX (New Orleans) Sunday, Feb. 9
As expected the Jacksonville Jaguars fired head coach Doug Pederson after a 4-13 season. The Jaguars’ 22-29 record under Pederson since 2022. Pederson has a 64-66-1 record in eight years with the Eagles and Jaguars. His .492 career winning percentage is worst in NFL history by a coach who won a Super Bowl, and he’s the only Super Bowl-winning coach with a losing record.
In case you missed it Hideki Matsuyama runs away with The Sentry, the first PGA tourney of the season in Hawaii and broke the scoring record to open new PGA Tour season. The win marked the 11th of Matsuyama’s career on Tour, and his third in the past 10 months. He set the Tour’s 72-hole scoring record with his final birdie at the 18th, too. That broke Cameron Smith’s previous mark of 34-under, which he set at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2022. The Tour stays in Hawaii for the Sony Open this week and local favorite and frequent Fair Shake guest Adam Schenk is in the field.
