Indiana State Police and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening, January 8, on US-50 near State Road 450, just west of Shoals. According to police, Paul M. Davis, 58, of Shoals, lost control of his 2016 Cadillac SUV while traveling eastbound. The vehicle slid sideways into the westbound lane and collided with a 2010 Mack semi-truck driven by Jonathon A. Kauffman, 21, of Washington. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Martin County Coroner. Kauffman was uninjured. The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy will be scheduled. Family notifications have been made.
