Lawrence Jospeh Nolan, 64, of Washington, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 12:13pm.

He was born on June 12, 1960, in Washington, IN, to the late George R. & Elizabeth (Miller) Nolan.

Larry married Janella (Perkins) Nolan on October 24, 1987, and they spent over 37 years together happily married.

Larry graduated from Barr-Reeve High School in 1978 with 12 years of perfect attendance. Following, he completed the Purdue University Agriculture Short Course in 1979. He was of Catholic faith and proud to be.

Larry was born with a heart of a farmer. He’d been farming since the age of 6 with his dad and later with his brother, Tim. Together they were Nolan Farms Inc. He was a “Conservation Farmer of the Year” award recipient with his brother Tim.

After graduation, he worked for the next 37 years in several different coal mines as a heavy equipment operator while continuing to farm. For the past 15 years, he owned and maintained several rental homes in Washington, but always farming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth “Liz” & George Nolan; and his sister, Lisa Miller.

Larry is survived by his wife, Janella Nolan of Washington, IN; his boys, Jorrin and Lawson Nolan both of Washington, IN; his faithful Doberman, Jack; his siblings, Colleen (Jerry) Moore of Marietta, GA, Lori (Bruce) Gusman of Miami, FL, Tim (Jane) Nolan of Washington IN, and Julie (Brian) King of Washington, IN; and his Godsons, Conner Nolan, Jeffrey Harrawood, and Beau Sluder.

Visitation for Larry will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2024, from 10:30am-1:30pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501.
