Nola Mae Gordon, 88, of Washington, IN went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2024. She was born in Mt. Vernon, KY on April 6, 1936, to the late James T. and Flossie (Bullock) Payne. Nola attended Brodhead High School and was a member of the 1953 graduating class. She continued her education at Vincennes University, where she received an associate degree in Bookkeeping. Nola married Donald W. Gordon in May 1960, and they were blessed with three children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved to sing in the choir and play the piano for church.
In her free time she enjoyed listening to the news, sewing, watching golf, and cooking. She will be deeply missed by all.
Nola is preceded in death by her parents James T. and Flossie Payne; husband Donald W. Gordon; brother Shelby Payne; brothers-in-law Raymond McKinney and Charlie Whitson.
She is survived by her children Donnie (Paula) Gordon Jr., Brett (Stephanie) Gordon, Marti Gordon; Nola’s companion Bill Malott; grandchildren Brittany (Eric) Boger, Derek (Nancy) Gordon, Christopher Gordon, David (Arlette) Gordon, Noah Gordon, Courtney Gordon; grandcats Walter and Jovie Rose; 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way; stepdaughter Kim “Malott” Hinderliter; siblings Lena McKinney, Jewell Whitson, Margaret (John) Kirby, Lily (Harvey) Hayes, Jim (LaVonna) Payne, Curtis (Thresia) Payne, Jenny (Raymond) Decker, Gayle (Coy) Brown; sister-in-law MaryAlice Payne.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ms. Gordon. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2024, from noon to service time. The Funeral Service will begin promptly at 2 pm. Burial will be a Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
