Peggy Ann (Nichols) Underwood, 72, passed away January 23, 2025. She was born in Washington, January 25, 1952, the daughter of John Robert and Norma (Goodwin) Nichols.
A 1969 graduate of North Daviess High School, Peggy later attended Vincennes University. She had worked in the bakery department of Arnold’s Red and White and later was a real estate agent. A woman of many talents, Peggy was an accomplished artist, especially oil paintings. She baked and decorated cakes for family and friends, and was known for her homemade yeast rolls and noodles. She attended Bethany Christian Church.
Those who now cherish Peggy’s memory include her children: Jon (Crystal Taylor) Taylor of Indianapolis; Ryan Underwood and Kyli (William) Young, both of Washington. Peggy was blessed with four grandchildren: Zac (Morgan) Taylor of Washington; Zoey Taylor of Indianapolis; Arianna Leake in Oregon; Amara Underwood of Washington; and two great-grandchildren: Hudson Taylor and Harrison Taylor, both of Washington. Additionally, she leaves several nieces and nephews.
During her lifetime, Peggy mourned the loss of her parents, Bob and Norma Nichols; brothers: Bobby Nichols, Joe Nichols, Danny Nichols; and her special friend, Darrell.

Visitation for Peggy Ann Underwood will be 4:00-8:00 pm; Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
Funeral services for Peggy Ann Underwood will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Tom Watson will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarland Memory Gardens.
