Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum has announced upcoming road projects, including a significant paving project on Main Street set to begin later this spring or early summer. The project will span from 7th Street to 1st Street, including Patrick Henry Square. However, a section between 6th and 7th Street will require a full excavation due to old trolley tracks beneath the surface, temporarily closing that block. Additionally, INDOT plans to install sidewalks along Hart Street from McDonald’s to Kimmel Road in 2026, with the city set to begin its portion of the project later this year or early next year. INDOT also has plans to add lighting at the U.S. 41 and Willow Street interchange in the future.
