
Rebecca (Love) Dant, 80, passed away at her Montgomery residence on February 17, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Washington, January 3, 1945, the daughter of Ervin and Rosemary (Carrico) Love. She was married to Marion Dant. Together, they created a happy home for themselves until his death in 2008.
Rebecca was a homemaker and was devout in her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. She loved doing puzzles, visiting with friends and family, watching birds at her bird feeder, and playing cards. She was an excellent cook. Her favorite things were diet coke, cats, and scary movies. She despised the snow.
Those who now mourn Rebecca’s passing include her son, Francis M. “Nay” Dant, Jr. of Washington; grandchildren: Henley (Tyler) Swartzentruber of Montgomery, Bailey Michelle Dant and fiancé, Alex Hill of Mayfield Kentucky. Rebecca leaves two great-grandchildren: Iris Fae Swartzentruber and Opal Rose Swartzentruber; several nieces and nephews; and siblings: Judy Kay Ballard of Loogootee, Evin “Gabby” Love of Cannelburg; Adrian Leo Love of Paoli; Mary Ann (Greg) Fish of Cannelburg; Jona (Rick) Theroff of Washington; Mark Randall (Janice) Love of Alfordsville; Tammy Love of Washington; Lisa Love of Loogootee; and Neal Love of Frisco, Indiana.
During her lifetime, Rebecca grieved the loss of her parents, Ervin and Rosemary Love; her husband, Marion Dant; children, James William Dant, Dan “Bill” Dant, Beldas Raymond Dant, George Thomas Dant; daughter-in-law, Gerri Dant; brothers: Simmy Love, James Love, Gary Love, Luke Allen Love, and sister, Sue Mischler.
Visitation for Rebecca Dant will be 10:00-11:50 am, Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rebecca Dant, at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 21, 2025, also at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Cemetery.
