Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Hands Out Awards

Daviess County area business and community leaders gathered last night at the Washington National Guard Armory for the annual Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Dinner and Awards night.  Several local leaders and businesses were recognized for their outstanding service to our community.  This year’s recipient of the prestigious Hagel Award was Bill Dobson, owner of Bill Dobson Ford in Washington.  He said it’s an honor to live and work in our great community and is excited to see his business now move into the next generation…

 

 

Receiving the Impact Award was Washington Community Schools, for their great work building our future leaders and workers to keep local business striving.  Kevin Frank Superintendent says this means a lot to the corporation to be honored…

 

 

Other winners last night included Graber’s Handcrafted Furniture for Small Business of the Year.  Taber-Owens Construction for Business of the Year for their big projects including the Hatchet Hollow Renovation and The Commons, Discover Downtown Washington was the recipient of the Dillon Tourism Award, and this year’s Firestarter Award went to Tracy T.C. Cook.  Sarah McCracken was honored as the Outgoing President of the Board . A crowd of nearly 300 people enjoyed the dinner and fellowship at the Thursday night event.
