The Loogootee Water Department is repairing a water main leak along US Highway 50 east of Loogootee and in the Scenic Hill area, affecting water service for some customers.
Once water pressure is restored, customers east of US Highway 50 and Church Street, including Scenic Hill, are advised to boil their drinking and cooking water for at least five minutes before use. This precautionary measure is due to the water main leak in the affected service area.
The advisory will remain in effect until officials confirm the water is safe to consume. Residents will be notified when the boil order is lifted.
