A new 550-acre defense manufacturing facility is set to be built in Greene County, strengthening the U.S. defense supply chain and creating new jobs. The American Center for Manufacturing & Innovation (ACMI) and Prometheus Energetics announced the project, which will focus on solid rocket motor and munitions production as part of the Department of Defense’s Munitions Campus Program. Located near Crane Army Ammunition Activity in Bloomfield, the site will serve as a hub for defense industry innovation, attracting new startups and established companies. Prometheus Energetics, a partnership between Kratos Defense & Security Solutions and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, will be the anchor tenant. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with phased openings starting in 2027.
