Emergency crews responded to a fire on Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Private Road 1215 E in Loogootee. The fire, reported at 2:33 PM, was dangerously close to propane tanks, coming within three feet before firefighters arrived. Multiple fire departments, including Cannelburg, Odon, and Madison, were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel were also placed on standby. Firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the flames by 2:45 PM. During the response, one male suffered burns to his legs and required medical attention. The scene was cleared shortly after 3:00 PM.
