A stolen vehicle from Monroe County led law enforcement on a pursuit through Greene and Daviess counties on Wednesday, March 12, before being remotely disabled by OnStar. The Greene County Sheriff’s Department received information about the stolen vehicle around 1:20 PM and located it on State Road 58 near US 231. As deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to comply, continuing southbound on US 231 and swerving into oncoming traffic. With assistance from OnStar, the vehicle was remotely disabled, allowing deputies to take the driver into custody without further incident. Authorities later confirmed that the suspect was wanted in Illinois for possession of a stolen vehicle. The individual was transported to Monroe County to face related charges. The Greene County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, and local police departments.
