The Cannelburg Fire Department has opened a second station at 250 N 1200 E (Saint Mary’s Road), built entirely through community donations without the use of tax dollars. The new station will improve emergency response times by approximately 10 minutes for residents on the east side of Barr Township. Additionally, it is expected to lower homeowner insurance rates by improving ISO ratings in the area. Currently, the station houses Engine 22, with plans to add a medical/brush response truck in the future. The department plans to host an open house and fundraiser once the facility is fully completed.
