A property damage accident early Wednesday morning led to a temporary road closure on U.S. Highway 50 after a collision between a Chevy Trax and a dump truck resulted in a diesel fuel spill. Emergency responders were dispatched at 7:21 a.m. to the 310 E U.S. Highway 50 area. Initial reports indicated no injuries, but upon arrival, the Chevy’s airbags had deployed, and the driver complained of chest pain, prompting EMS to respond. Authorities shut down the westbound lane while firefighters from multiple departments, including Cannelburg and Montgomery, worked to contain the fuel spill. Craney’s and Briggeman’s towing services were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles. The roadway was cleared, and emergency crews completed their response shortly before 9:00 a.m.
