Daviess County is launching a Local Outreach for Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team to provide in-person support to individuals and families affected by suicide. Led by Coroner Dr. Tyler Counsil, the LOSS Team will offer comfort, guidance, and mental health resources to survivors at the scene. The initiativealso aims to raise awareness about suicide loss and its mental health impacts, while working toward expanding the program regionally. The team will be made up of trained volunteers, including clinical professionals and suicide loss survivors. Recruitment is now underway.
