Robert L. Osmon, 75, of Washington, IN, passed away on April 2, 2025. Born on July 31, 1949, in Washington, IN, to Robert and Betty Osmon, Bob’s life was defined by hard work, unwavering dedication, and a sincere commitment to those he loved.

A proud graduate of Washington High School, class of 1967, Bob went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 1971. His career as a mechanical engineer was marked by many years of dedicated service at Crane, where he left an indelible mark before retiring in 2007. Even after retirement, his passion for engineering never waned—Bob continued to work as a contractor, always with the same scrupulous attention to detail that defined his professional life.

Bob’s influence extended far beyond his career. He was a devoted father and proud grandfather, survived by his two sons, Scott (Keegan) Osmon and Brad Osmon, his bonus-son, Kyle Jones, and his three cherished granddaughters, Addison Osmon, Brooklyn Osmon, and Claire Osmon. His sister, Patty (Ron) Arnold, and his beloved nieces—Jennifer (Tony) Johnson, Lori Arnold (Brent Coudron), and Bridget Arnold.

In his earlier years, Bob was an active father who coached youth basketball and baseball and meticulously planned many travel soccer trips, ensuring every detail was taken care of. His love for sports went beyond the game; it was about creating lasting memories with his family.

Outside of work and sports, Bob’s passions were as diverse as his interests. Whether he was immersed in a new project, tinkering with his favorite cars, perfecting his golf swing, or nurturing his garden, he approached every task with the same engineer’s precision and love for life. His close circle of friends knew him as a reliable, fun-loving presence, always ready with a laugh or a helping hand.

In lieu of a formal service, the family will be celebrating Bob’s life together at home.
