Paige Bueckers and UConn cruised to yet another dominant 82-59 win over South Carolina at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday afternoon to win the national championship. It marks the program’s 12th title in team history, and the first since 2016. They are now the first Division I team with a dozen championships, all of which have come under head coach Geno Auriemma.

PGA Valero Texas Open
Brian Harman handled the wind and the chill Sunday with a pair of key birdies on the back nine Sunday in the Valero Texas Open, closing with a 3-over 75 for a three-shot victory, his first title since the 2023 Open Championship. Harman began the final round with a three-shot lead and it soon became a tight battle with Andrew Novak, who was going for his first PGA Tour victory and a spot in the Masters.

WNBA 2 time MVP Elena Delle Donne has announced her retirement. Delle Donne played 10 seasons in the WNBA. She was selected by the Chicago Sky with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft and won the Rookie of the Year award that season. Over her career, Delle Donne was a seven-time All-Star and was named to the All-WNBA team five times.
Alex Ovechkin is the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring king.
The Washington Capitals superstar scored his 895th career goal on Sunday against the New York Islanders, breaking the NHL record held by Wayne Gretzky since 1999. Ovechkin scored on a power play during the second period, which was the Capitals’ only goal in a 4-1 loss.
