Mayor Dave Rhoads kicked off April by sharing updates with the community. A special City Council meeting is scheduled for today at 6:00 PM at the Community Building to discuss a proposed Landlord Rental Dwelling Regulation Agreement. The mayor encouraged landlords to attend and offer feedback on the draft ordinance, which would require landlords to register rental properties and allow safety inspections in response to tenant complaints. The proposed application fee is $25. Rhoads also provided an update on the city’s application for a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), which would allow open carry of alcoholic beverages within designated downtown areas. The city is awaiting state approval.
