Diana Sue Rusk, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 91, in Washington, IN. Born on April 1, 1934, in Vincennes, IN, Diana’s life was marked by her caring nature and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

A proud graduate of Vincennes-Lincoln High School, Diana excelled as a student, graduating as a salutatorian. She began her career as a telephone operator with Indiana Bell, displaying her trademark friendliness and efficiency. Later in life, she further showcased her handy and artistic abilities in the fabrics department at Walmart, where she formed cherished relationships with her colleagues and customers.

Diana devoted a significant portion of her life to her role as a loving and attentive stay-at-home mother, nurturing her children with warmth and dedication. Her children, Thaddeus, Theodore, and Amy, remain a testament to her unwavering support and care. Diana’s love for sewing intertwined with her love for her family, with countless cherished creations, left as tokens of her talent and affection.

An active member of First Baptist Church, she cultivated a life rich with faith and community spirit. Her loving and friendly spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Diana rejoins her late husband, Richard C. Rusk, in eternal peace, along with her parents, Daniel and Zoe “McCord” Burnside, and brother, James Burnside. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A private burial will be held at Sugarland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Research. Online condolences and fond memories may be made at www.fredrickandson.com. Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Sue’s arrangements.
