EF-1 Tornado Strikes Princeton, Leaves Path of Damage

tornado

An EF-1 tornado with winds of over 105mph hit Princeton late yesterday afternoon. The biggest damage was in the area of Oak and Seminary Streets over to State Street, about six blocks long and four blocks wide, according to officials.   Cleanup is underway today, and authorities are asking residents to avoid the area and not drive by to check it out.   Police also warn homeowners affected by the storm to be diligent when hiring crews to help with the clean-up.   Scammers love to come in and collect money while not doing the job. Damage was also reported yesterday in Dubois County at OFS Plant Five, where a roof was torn off the building.   As we are in the heart of spring storm season, this is a reminder that these storms can pop up quickly, sometimes with little warning.  Always be prepared and have a safety plan in place for you and your family.
