Master Trooper Gaven Wilson has been named the 2024 “Trooper of the District” by the Indiana State Police Jasper Post. The award was presented in Indianapolis by Superintendent Anthony Scott. A 30-year veteran, Wilson is known for his dedication to public safety, particularly in Daviess and Martin Counties. In 2024, he led investigations into serious crimes such as rape, child molesting, and auto theft, while also working closely with local schools and mentoring youth. Wilson, a Field Training Officer and community program sponsor, is praised for nearly 900,000 safe driving miles. He lives in Daviess County with his wife Yumi and attends Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield.
