Washington Community Schools will hold a dual language immersion course starting with the next school year.
The course allows half instruction in English, with the other half in Spanish.
The course will be taught to kindergarteners the first year, and expand each year.
Any parent voluntarily enrolling students in the program need to commit to the program through the upper elementary grades.
The program is designed to encourage Spanish-speaking students to become bilingual.
A parent meeting to discuss the program is set for January 30th. Signups for the January 30th session are available through the Washington Community Schools Website.
