Mary Louise Peek

Mary Louise Peek, 94, of Loogootee, Indiana went to be home with her Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Sycamore Care Strategies.
She was born April 11, 1928 in Martin County, Indiana to the late William C. and Julia Iona (Strawn) Walton.
Mary graduated from Loogootee High School in 1946. She married Ellis Peek Jr. on June 20, 1948. Mary helped with all aspects of the family farm – Orchard Knolls Farm in Shoals. She was especially involved with sorting, grading and selling apples grown in the family’s orchard. She was a member of the Dover Hill Extension Homemakers Club and was also a Farm Bureau Womens’ Leader. In 1972 Mary and her husband moved to Loogootee where she was co-owner and manager of Peeks Fruit House until retirement. Mary loved reading and was a member of “Friends of Loogootee Library”. She also liked taking daily walks and working word puzzles. But the two most important parts of her life were love for the Lord and love for her family. Mary was a faithful member of the Loogootee Christian Church. Her family meant the world to her and they were very dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Peek Jr; siblings, Oral Lee “Sam” (Mary) Walton and Barbara Parsons; sister-in-law, Hazel Walton.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathy Ann (Michael) Harker of Shoals, Linda Diane (Michael D.) Cooper of Shoals and Susan Elaine (Jeffery) Hudson of Loogootee; grandchildren, Tammy Cooper, Amy (Brent) James, Jennifer Madison, Jason Hudson, Jonathan (Jessica) Harker, Brandon (Erica) Cooper and Noah Hudson; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; brother, Carl Wayne Walton; brother-in-law, Jesse Parsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Loogootee Christian Church. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals, Indiana.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
