NEWBURGH, Ind. — He admitted to being sexually aroused by the sexual abuse of children. Now, he’s headed to federal prison for twelve long years.
On July 28th, 2020, police executed a search warrant at the home of Anthony Richardson, 30, of Newburgh. The cops found several electronic devices with pictures of child sexual abuse on them. Police also found Richardson’s computer which had over 1,400 videos of child sexual abuse. The videos showed rapes of preschool aged children and an “extremely” brutal depiction of the torture and sexual abuse of a little girl.
Court documents reveal Richardson admitted to being sexually aroused by child sex abuse and that he collected any kind of child sex abuse material. Richardson pled guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material and was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, as well as 10 years on probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
In fiscal year 2019, the most recent year for which data is available, the Southern District of Indiana was second out of the 94 federal districts in the country for the number of child sexual exploitation cases prosecuted.
