Mary “Marlene” Dale, 85, passed away at 6:15 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at BridgePointe Health Campus surrounded by her loving family. Marlene was born on March 13, 1937 in Sumner, IL and is the daughter of Fred and Bessie (Fisher) Hesher. She married Jack Dale on June 24, 1956 and he survives.
Marlene and Jack were members of First Christian Church where they were married and baptized. She was instrumental in starting and running Jack Dale Real Estate and Developers, Homes Plumbing, and O’Donnel’s Supply. Marlene served on Good Samaritan Hospital Board of Governors from March 15, 1990 to June 3, 1995 and was Secretary of the Board from 1993-1995. She was instrumental in helping her husband rejuvenate the Knox County Shrine Club in Knox County. She was active in Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and also active in her children’s LaSalle Elementary School programs and activities. Marlene and her husband Jack, also enjoyed spending time at their second home in St. Pete Beach, FL.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Dale of Vincennes, her son, Brad Dale and his wife Holly of Vincennes; daughter, Diane Hardwick and her husband Dan of Vincennes; her sisters, Leona “Crickett: Kaiser of Vincennes, Carolyn Holden of Sebastian, FL; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Cunningham and her husband Jeff, Jennifer Minderman and her husband Chris; her great grandchildren, Emma, Marissa and Jeffrey Cunningham, and Colton and Elle Minderman. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Hesher, her daughter, Donna Lynn Dale, and her brother, Donald Hesher.
Friends may visit with Marlene’s family from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Marlene’s funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dale Biehl officiating. Marlene will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
