The Washington Police Department has put a team together for the 2023 Polar Plunge. The Polar Plunge raises funds for the Indiana Special Olympics, which is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching over 15,000 athletes across Indiana. Each participant must raise at least $85; every team sets a goal. The WPD Team has set their goal at $5,000. The team is currently collecting donations from any local businesses or individuals who wish to donate. **Cash or check donations only (payable to Indiana Special Olympics)** Donations can be dropped off at the Washington Police Department, Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm (Ask for Kyla.) If you are unable to bring your donation to the station during these hours or you have any questions, you can contact Kyla at 812-254-8242. We have also shared the link if you would rather donate that way! The department will be accepting donations for the next few weeks!
