Herschell Jr. Orr was called home to heaven on February 13, 2023, to be with his loving wife in time for Valentine’s Day. He was born December 10, 1935, in Browns, Illinois, to William Tolliver and Blanche Orr.
Herschell was married to the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Windle (his Annie) on April 23, 1963; they shared a life together for fifty-eight years.
Herschell was formerly employed by the Vincennes Sun-Commercial where he made route deliveries. He was an avid car collector and an avid wrestling fan and he enjoyed watching the WWE with his grandsons. He attended the Greater Vision Church in Washington with his two daughters, Ulysia and Odessa.
Herschell leaves behind three children: Herschell, Jr. of Washington, Ulysia Long of Washington, and Odessa Gregory of Washington; five grandchildren: Ryan (April) Allen of Washington, Jairus Allen of Washington, Heather Hinderliter of Washington, Cameron Gregory of Vincennes, and Caleb Gregory of Washington. He has fourteen great-grandchildren, including his special Little Annie who always made sure to share the Bible and pray for her grandpa, along with a little friend, Roscoe.
Herschell was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Annie, along with one son, Herschell (Troy) Orr and daughter, Dalana Arnold.
Funeral services for Herschell Jr. Orr will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Greater Vision Church, 2893 State Route 57 South, Washington, Indiana. Pastor Reverend Joshua Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the New Veale Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ed L. Lee Mortuary to offset funeral costs.
