Robert Dencil Webster, 87, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on February 22, 2023 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born on October 13, 1935 to Burrel and Goldie (Andis) Webster. Bob married Betty Abel and together they had 4 children. He later married Carolyn Sue Emery and welcomed her two sons into the family.
Bob worked several jobs over the years including Hall Neal Furnace in Indianapolis, driving a school bus in Odon and Bloomfield, working at International Harvester, owning and operating Webster’s Garage and driving for Med Express.
Bob was a member of the gospel group the Travelettes and the Daviess County Fair Board. He was a Board member at Antioch Christian Church in Bloomfield and a past Deacon at Burns City Church. Bob enjoyed spending time with family, watching Nascar and IU Basketball.
Survivors include his children, Debra (Roy) Salmon, Loretta (Tom) Palo, Rob (Teressa) Webster, Jeff Workman and Brad (Imelda) Workman; one sister, Mabel (Jerry) Marcum; one brother, Darrel (Donna) Webster; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Betty and Carolyn Sue; one son, Kevin; two grandsons; one brother, Starlin Webster; two sisters, Ivis Walls and Adabelle Webster.
Funeral services to honor the life of Bob will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Byron Holtsclaw officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Scotland Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
