Indiana’s Makenzie Holmes was a unanimous 1st team all america choice by the Associated Press. Holmes helped Indiana to one of the best seasons in school history. The Hoosiers, who finished second in the AP poll, won the Big Ten regular season title. Holmes averaged 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and shot 68.8% from the field.
The Colts are expected to make additional quarterback maneuvers before the offseason ends, but they bolstered the position a bit with Thursday’s signing of former Philadelphia Eagles backup Gardner Minshew.
Indianapolis holds the fourth overall pick in next month’s NFL draft, with which it is expected to select a quarterback. But Minshew, an experienced, young veteran, gives them some peace of mind at a position that was a source of constant problems for the Colts in 2022.
Former South Knox Spartan Adam Schenk, playing for the 10th week in a row and chasing his first PGA title, sank a 51-foot birdie putt at the 18th in a run of four straight birdies on his way to shooting -5 and is part of a trio of golfers in the lead at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, FL.
