Parker Leroy Holstine, 86, of Plainville, IN went to be with the Lord March 20, 2023. He was born in Plainville, IN on September 15, 1936, to the late Alton Parker and Mary (Wilson) Holstine. In 1954, Leroy graduated from Epsom High School where he was the class president. He married the love of his life, Brenda Jill Davis, on November 30, 1962. Leroy was a lifelong farmer, raising hogs, cattle, and grain with his brothers and nephews. He worked at McCord Corporation for 20 years and served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of Cornettsville United Methodist Church and the Plainville Lions Club, and enjoyed basketball, church activities, and reunions. Leroy will be remembered for his dedication to the farm and his family.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; sister Doris (Gilbert) Andis; and brother Ralph Holstine.
Surviving Leroy is his wife of 60 years, Jill Holstine; daughters Dana (Glen) Petroff and Leah (Todd) Whalen; grandchildren Brock (Victoria) Whalen, Holly (Clint) Summerlin, Brooke Petroff; brothers Ray Holstine and Russell (Janet) Holstine; sister-in-law Joan Holstine; and many nieces and nephews.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mr. Holstine. Visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 2020 State St. from 11am- 1pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 1pm with burial at Sugarland Memory Gardens immediately following.
