Louis Richard “Dick” Fry, 93, passed away at 4:30 am on April 25, 2023 at the Emerald Place Assisted Living Facility. Dick was born on October 19, 1929 in Terre haute, IN and he is the son of John A. and Mabel Ruth (Mills) Fry. Dick married Nancy Savage and she preceded him in death.
Dick served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Texas Gas Transmission as a land man buying rights to gas lines. He is a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and the American Legion. Dick enjoyed horses, motorcycles, dancing and was very active in 4-H where he was in charge of the horse and pony club.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Carlton and her husband Jim, Rebecca Fry of Washington; grandson Jeremy “Germ” Carlton. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel Ruth Fry, wife Nancy Fry, two children, sister, Peggy Llewellyn and brothers, Marvin, William and Jack Fry.
Friends may visit with Dick’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of the service time of 1:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023 with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating. at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501.
