Preston Cleon Morton, Sr., 58, passed away in the early morning hours of May 6, 2023. He was born in Oakland City, July 28, 1964, to Preston C. and Nina Lee (Austin) Morton.
During his working years, Preston was employed by D & M Automotive in Henderson, Kentucky, where he was a mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and liked to tinker with electronics. A devoted family man, Preston was happiest when he was spending time with his grandchildren.
Those who now mourn Preston’s passing include his mother, Nina Lee Morton; his children: Danielle (Jacob) Hols of Washington; Rebecca Morton of Sebring, Kentucky; Preston C. Morton, Jr. of Henderson, Kentucky; and Katie Lea Morton of Hazard, Kentucky. Preston was blessed with five grandchildren: Bruse Hols; Isabelle St. Onge; Jackson St. Onge; Malachi Monk; and Kaleb Workman. He also leaves a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Ross Frederick, Jr.) Goodrich of Washington; and a brother, Daniel H. Morton of Henderson, Kentucky; three nieces: Cheyenne Morton, Miranda Dawn Holady, Jean Marie Goodrich and nephew, Michael Wade Holady, Jr.
Preston was preceded in death by his father, Preston C. Morton, and sister, Theresa Harrold.
Visitation for Preston Cleon Morton, Sr. will be 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
Funeral services for Preston Cleon Morton, Sr. will immediately follow the visitation on May 10, 2023, and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Anderson Chapel Cemetery in Petersburg.
After the interment services are concluded, the family will gather at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary for a Celebration of Life.
