Allen Dean Like, 79, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2033 at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana. Allen was born on November 1, 1944 and was the son of Euell and Ada (English) Like.
Allen retired from Vincennes University where he served as a janitor for many years. Allen took pride in his job and met many friends along the way. Aside from work, Allen was a genealogy enthusiast as he spent many hours doing research. He would frequent the Knox County Library as much as time would allow him and loved helping people find their ancestry and family research. He had a strong interest in local area history and enjoyed participating in local events. Allen was also a proud veteran who served in the Navy during the Vietnam era.
Surviving Allen are his nieces and nephews, Kenny Like, Doug Like (Mary), David Like, Debbie Harvey (Steve), Kim Like (Greg Boyles), and Joey Like (Penny). Preceding Allen in death are his parents, Euell and Ada Like; brothers, Kenneth Darrell Like and John Like; and sister Glenda Tjoa.
Friends may visit with Allen’s family on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 11:00am- 12:30 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning promptly at 12:30 pm. Pastor Fred Nocus will be the officiant. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Allen.
