The Vincennes Parks Department is rallying the community for a corn hole tournament on August 12th at the Vincennes Riverfront Pavilion. The event aims to raise funds for the renovation of Lester Square Skatepark. The tournament, beginning at 3 p.m. with registration starting at 2:30 p.m., will be a doubles contest, and each participant is requested to contribute $25. All proceeds will be dedicated to the enhancement of the skatepark. Currently, a fundraising campaign is underway, aiming to gather $50,000 for a matching grant offered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. So far, the effort has raised $4,675. The corn hole tournament will award winners $100 each. Additionally, participants and attendees can enjoy food and a cash bar on-site. The skatepark renovation project envisions transforming the area into an expansive, over 15,000-square-foot, all-concrete park. The plans include updated lighting, enhanced security features, beautiful landscaping, and the addition of restrooms.
