Washington golf team competed in the Bloomington South Invitational at Bloomington Country Club yesterday to kick off the 23-24 high school sports season. It was an 18 team field with some of the states top ranked teams and the Hatchets shoot a 446 to finish 15th. Jasper shot 406 to finish 12th. Vincennes Rivet competed with 3 golfers so they didn’t have a team score. Carmel took home the team title with a 303. Hatchet scoring went like this…Channey Clark led with a 93, Madi Dalton shot 114, Mackenzie Spillman fired a 119 and Izzie Howell shot a 120 and Grace Hickey a 127. Vincennes Rivet was led by Jackqueline Steininger with a 104. Washington travels to Pike Central on Wednesday for a match at Prides Creek. .

Buck Farmer got the win and Marcus Stroman took the loss. Alex Diaz got the save. Joey Votto, Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Will Benson all had 2 hits for the Reds while Yam Gomes went 3 for 4 for the Cubbies. Same two teams hook up in Wrigley tomorrow night
The Indianapolis Colts’ running back saga has taken yet another turn. In the midst of Jonathan Taylor remains embroiled in a contract dispute. Backup running back Zack Moss sustained a broken arm at training camp Monday. Colts insider Chip Jamerson reports to Shake Broadcasting Sports that Moss slammed his helmet to the ground after sustaining the injury during a morning practice and required help from the field from trainers. He’s expected to be sidelined for six weeks, per the reports.
