After a 38-year career, Lt. Duane Englert bids farewell to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. His journey began in 1985, with assignments in Pike and Gibson counties. Throughout his tenure, he excelled as an emergency vehicle operation instructor, firearms instructor, and public safety diver for an impressive 24 years. In 2013, he was promoted to District 7 Lieutenant, overseeing conservation efforts in Knox, Daviess, Martin, Gibson, Dubois, Pike, Posey, Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Spencer Counties. A true local, Lt. Englert hails from the Huntingburg area and holds an associate degree in conservation law from Vincennes University and a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources extends its heartfelt appreciation for his service, wishing him a rewarding and well-deserved retirement.
