Pilot Airlifted After Homemade Plane Crash in Southern Indiana

A pilot was airlifted to a hospital in Louisville after crashing a homemade plane at the Scottsburg Municipal Airport in Southern Indiana. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The aircraft involved was identified as a homemade ultralight, and the pilot was the sole occupant. According to witnesses, the crash happened shortly after takeoff from the airport’s runway. The plane veered to the right and went down in a nearby field. Emergency personnel airlifted the pilot to a trauma center in Louisville, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries. Despite the seriousness of the crash, loved ones are hopeful that he will recover. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation into the cause of the accident. As of now, the pilot’s name remains undisclosed.
