The Comforting Hearts All-Inclusive Playground at Longfellow Park in Washington was officially dedicated yesterday. Mayor Dave Rhoads and the group, along with Kip Kelley and the Parks Department, cut the ribbon to officially open the new park to the community. April’s 7th grade daughter Christina says she quit going to playgrounds after seeing her sister Kaity, who is in a wheelchair, not able to join her in the fun…
Kaity and Christina both enjoyed all the new equipment yesterday. Hunt says they still want to do more work, including adding music and more fencing to the park, but are grateful to the community, the city of Washington, and the Parks Department for all their help in making this special day happen.
